I have no idea how this guy managed this. One of these vehicles slammed into a row of parked cars on 20th Street so hard that one of them ended up on the sidewalk.

Undercover Take-Down

I was minding my business when a police car pulled into the parking lot next to where I was. That was interesting enough but what followed was even more interesting!

Just as the police car nosed up to a Mustang, an unmarked car pulled in behind it and officers pilled out of it. They swarmed the Mustang and started yanking people out.

Of course, the driver didn't just do as the officers ordered. He was putting up one heck of a fight. I could hear him yelling at the officers as they were trying to get him to get out of the car.

The horn was blowing intermittently from the struggle but the officers got a good hand on him and to the ground he went.

Me? I was snapping shots as fast as I could!

Excellent job by Birmingham's Finest in getting them off the streets.

Spivey's Hobby Store Fire

The oldest hobby & toy store in the city, Spivey's Hobby & Toys, burned Thursday evening. The fire spread quickly due to the paint, plastics and combustibles inside. Crews rotated through throughout the night and the next day.
