Avondale Apartment Fire

Birmingham Fire & Rescue

Birmingham Fire & Rescue responded to an apartment fire in the 4200 blk of 5th Avenue, So., yesterday. Firefighters on the scene made a quick stop and prevented a lot of damage to the building.

Companies on the scene were: Engines 10, 22, 8 (on a reserve), Rescue 22, Truck 2 (on a reserve), Battalion 3 and Fire Investigator 3.

Birmingham Firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the 1300 blk of Steiner Ave., SW. When the first units arrived, there was a great deal of smoke showing as well as fire. A 2nd alarm was immediately struck.

A common attic made matters worse but the on-scene units did a quick job of extinguishing the blaze. Hard work!

Alabama LifeSaver : 25 Years of Safety

Congratulations to Alabama LifeSaver for 25 years of safety! I started in EMS back in 1985 and have always been impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the crews from LifeSaver. Alabama is lucky to have such a great operation.

Keep up the great work and I wish you all many more years of safe flying.
