Escaped Suspect

I-20 - Irondale

Birmingham Police officers stopped a car for speeding on I-20 at the Birmingham/Irondale city limits. The car, with Texas plates, was on the way from Waco, Texas to Augusta, Georgia with two males in it.

According to media reports, the two occupants of the car were acting suspicious. They were asked if they would consent to a search of their car but they refused.

That's when one of them took off running. He ran down off the Interstate and into a neighborhood near an elementary school. Because of that, the school had to go into lockdown while the search was on.

Officers found 17.5 lbs. of pot in the car.

More UAB ER

Ambulance Ramp

Here are three more pictures of the new UAB ER ramp. The new ER ramp is MUCH nicer than the old one... and it has PLENTY room! From entrance to exit is approximately 3/4 of a block in length.
