Northport Fire & Rescue

Northport Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at the Thrift Store in Northport. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered fire showing from the front of the building. A quick jump on the fire prevented the fire from spreading to the rest of the building.

James E. "Jimmy" Jarrell Funeral

Irondale Fire & Rescue

The funeral for retired Irondale Assistant Chief James "Jimmy" Jarrell was held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial. The funeral was a Firefighter's Funeral, which included a procession to his final resting place at Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale and a fly-over by LifeSaver.

Irondale Fire & Rescue

Irondale Fire & Rescue is mourning the loss of one of their brothers, James E. "Jimmy" Jarrell, who was a retired Assistant Chief with a 27 year career with the department. Among his many accomplishments, in 1991 Chief Jarrell was named Paramedic of the Year by BREMSS.

Visitation will be Monday, July 21, 2008 from 5:00 - 7:00pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 10am at Jefferson Memorial with a Firefighter's Funeral which will include a procession to his final resting place at Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale. The route will take Chief Jarrell past Irondale City Hall.

God rest his soul and comfort his family and friends. He will be missed.
