Jefferey Farrow, 28, of Birmingham, Ala.; died while stationed at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Jefferey was a Birmingham Firefighter who was serving his country as an Army Staff Sgt. with the Army Reserve's 146th Quartermaster Company out of Fort Totten, N.Y.

Jefferey, who was not married, joined the department in February, 2002 and was stationed at Station 13 on Birmingham's busy Northside. He was called to active duty on October 15, 2004.

Mayor Bernard Kincaid ordered flags at all city buildings be flown at half-staff in honor of Farrow.

The funeral will be this Saturday (7/30/05) at Noon at the New Rising Star Baptist Church at 7401 London Avenue with burial at Zion Memorial Gardens.

18 Wheeler MVA With Spill

What a mess!

An 18 wheeler was involved in an MVA which caused one of his fuel tanks to rupture. After he ruptured the tank, he crossed all lanes of Decatur HWY and ended up in a ravine. There was fuel all over the place.

Engine 13, Rescue 13, 13's Decon, Birmingham PD and Jefferson County EMA responded to the incident.

NBC 13 used my pictures on the 5:00 Newscast.

USAF Ambulance

Last Friday, I saw a United States Air Force ambulance, 95B2095, dropping off a patient at Carraway Methodist Medical Center. I don't know where they came from but I have occasionally seen USAF ambulances in the past when I was at the 117th ANG base. Again, I don't know where this one originated from, though.
