New Vestavia Hills Apparatus

Vestavia Hills has taken delivery of a new Pierce 500/30/30 - A/B apparatus that is currently in service as Engine 3 at Station 3.

1st Annual Heroes and Hooks Fishing Tournament

1st Annual Heroes and Hooks Fishing Tournament

Date: June 5-6, 2008
Time: Safe Daylight to 2:00 p.m.
Location: Lake Mitchell
Eligibility: Police & Fire
Entry fee: $80 per boat (includes big fish)

Hook ups are available at the hotel
Blast off will be from the Public Boat Ramp at the dead end of Lake Mitchell Road, about 10 miles east of the Guesthouse Inn
Take Exit # 208 off I-65 ( Lake Mitchell Road exit)

All boats must have all the safety equipment required and approved by the U.S.C.G.
Only fish 12 inches or longer will be weighed in.
Five fish limit per boat.
2 Dead fish allowed with 6 oz. penalty each.
Any boat late for weigh-in will be penalized 1 lb for every minute late.

According to the number of boats entered, the top three places and big fish will be paid based on an 80% payback scale. Additional prizes will be given away by a drawing.

A state fishing license will be required for each competitor.
