Center Point House Fire

Center Point Fire & Rescue

Around 2pm on January 13, Center Point Fire & Rescue responded to a house fire in the 7000 block of Arnold Lane, off HWY 79 in Pinson. Upon arrival, crews from Center Point and Palmerdale fought the intense blaze, but there was nothing that could be done to save the residence.

Hoover PD Porsche Carrera

Hoover Police Department

The Hoover Police Department announced Friday that they have added a beautiful new piece of equipment to their already fine cache of crime fighting tools. A Porsche Carrera, which was seized on the Interstate two years ago with 10 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside two side compartments.

Chief Derzis said the car, which can reach speeds of 185mph, will be used for special events and DARE operations.

Congratulations to the Hoover Police Department and the City of Hoover in the acquisition of such a fine piece of equipment! Job well done.
