EMA Drill 2007 - Part 2

Jefferson County EMA

The Jefferson County EMA put on a large drill for crews from fire, police, FBI, military and Civil Air Patrol. The 36 hour drill, which took place at Legion Field in Birmingham, was held Tuesday and Wednesday after 6 months of planning and coordinating.

The exercise involved HAZ-MAT, Heavy Rescue, Communications and interagency operability.

Complicating matters was the fact that the temperature topped 100 degrees with an even higher heat index. Despite the extreme conditions, the drill went smoothly and everyone worked very well toward the goal in their part of the exercise.

Congratulations to everyone involved for such a successful event!
