Spivey's Hobby Store Fire

The oldest hobby & toy store in the city, Spivey's Hobby & Toys, burned Thursday evening. The fire spread quickly due to the paint, plastics and combustibles inside. Crews rotated through throughout the night and the next day.

I can rember going in there as a kid to collect those old State Trooper die casts. It was a sad day when that building went. I remember the old tilework in the entryway. Anyway, at lease he was able to get a new shop and he's open while he's fixing it up. It's over on Lomb near the old Humane Society building.
