Birmingham Fire & Rescue

Birmingham Fire & Rescue is in the middle of another Recruit School. This class of 25 firefighters is energetic and quick to learn. This afternoon, the class divided up into engine companies and each got to extinguish an automobile fire.

A special thank you to Chief Murray, Captain Mardis, Captain Cunningham and all the LT's who allowed me to watch today's exercise.

New Redbird Unit

Birmingham Fire & Rescue and the Birmingham Airport Authority have replaced the old Redbird 27 with a new Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting unit.

• V8 PowerStroke Turbo Diesel engine
• 300 Gallon Water Tank
• 40 Gallon Foam Tank
• 450 lb. Dry Chemical System
