Calera Plane Crash #2

Calera Fire & Rescue

I went to the Fire Prevention Week Parade in Montevallo this morning. It was one of the largest I've seen and very nice. I'll post pictures this week.

As I was heading home, I decided to stop by the Memorial for Calera Firefighter Chris Roy, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. I paid my respects and headed over to the Airport, across the street, to see if there was anything worth taking pictures of.

About that time, a plane crashed on the runway! Now, I've been to more wrecks than I can count but when a plane crashes right in front of you, it's hard to hold the camera still!

Calera Fire & Rescue got there lightening fast. Fortunately, there were no injuries but I'm sure peoples nerves were on edge after the fatal air show crash that killed three people there two weeks ago.

Needless to say, there WAS something to shoot at the airport after all. I'm glad no one was injured, though.

Why does so many police cars have to be at the scene? All you need is one.
