Jim Looney

Childersburg Fire & Rescue

Childersburg Fire & Rescue is mourning the loss of Assistant Chief Jim Looney. Chief Looney, who had been in the Fire/EMS service for approximately 30 years passed away from health problems.

Information about the services for Chief Looney should be available later today. I'll post them as soon as I hear something.

God rest his soul and comfort his family. He will be missed.

Jim was like a brother to me. We worked together @ Suburban in "the good old days" and he was my partner, and best friend. I just spoke with him a few months ago and he did not mention he was sicker than usual. I have lost a true friend today.

I worked with Jim at Suburban years ago and aways thought he was a great guy to be around. He always had a smile for everyone, (except maybe us dispatchers) May God bless the family in their loss. He was really a good man !
