Captain Mardis sent the following pictures from a house fire Birmingham Firefighters responded to in Powderly. The fire started on the back porch and was contained to the structure of origin.

If I'm not mistaken, Lt. Martin's aunt lived across the street from my family on Wesley Ave in Powderly. When she went to the nursing home he paid us to keep the grass cut. he'd drive up to the house in his city van and hand my dad a check. When we weren't home he'd slide the check under the door in a BFRS envelope and always stuck in some Fire Prevention flyers. I hope he's doing O.K.
