9 Charleston Firefighters LODD

Charleston media is reporting that 9 Charleston Firefighters were killed this evening during a roof collapse at a sofa warehouse fire. Witnesses on the scene reported hearing a MAYDAY over the fire department's radios and a firefighter asking that his wife be told that he loves her.
"Nine brave, heroic, courageous firefighters of the city of Charleston have perished fighting fire in a most courageous and fearless manner, carrying out their duties," Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley said at a morning news conference. "To all of their loved ones, our heart goes out to them."

We all need to pray for their families.*light weight trus construction is dangerous to firefighters use caution when fighting fire in these buildings*
As a Volunteer FF/EMT for 20 yrs in upstate NY. My heart goes out to the families of the fallen.
